At the Winery
Winery
Naming it after the French navigator Freycinet, Geoff and Susan Bull established the first commercial winery on Tasmania's east coast in 1979. Family owned, Freycinet is now managed by daughter Lindy and winemaker husband Claudio Radenti.
At 100 metres above sea level, the Freycinet vineyard is in a natural amphitheatre overlooking the spectacular Freycinet Peninsula. The sloping amphitheatre receives enhanced sunlight, as well as draining cold air, which eliminates late spring frosts. The cool Tasmanian climate, in conjunction with the soils and unique vineyard site, create the ideal conditions for Freycinet to grow their wines. The winemaking merges fastidious attention to detail with minimalist intervention.
Freycinet is one of Australia's leading producers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Radenti Sparkling is among the nation's best sparkling wine. All Freycinet wines are of a consistently high standard and reasonably priced.
